“ANCHOVIES” EXHIBITION

The anchovy festival in l’Escala is celebrating its 30th edition this year, a traditional festival that concentrates a wide variety of events and celebrations around the best-known product of our town.

The herald of the 30th edition will be the painter Lluís Roura and the chefs of the Compartir (Cadaqués) and Disfrutar (Barcelona) restaurants, Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch, will be awarded with the Golden Anchovy.

From Port 25 Galeria d’Art we join the anchovy party with an exhibition dedicated to this typical product by the artist Natalia Villanueva. His anchovies, sea tins and sardines are very often the protagonists of his works, paintings full of humor and color that reflect the light and the Mediterranean character.
